New UK mHealth Congress Announced for 2014
MCT-Congress has announced details of its inaugural event dedicated to the business of mobile technology in clinical research. Taking place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, 20–21 March 2014, the one and a half day event will explore the realities of mobile technology in clinical trials, its opportunities and threats, and how the industry can work together to face the challenges and build on the area's potential to benefit businesses and patients.
The expansion of mHealth technologies is changing the way that healthcare is being delivered and offering the capability to provide an unprecedented level of access to health resources worldwide. To highlight the impact that these advances are having on clinical research, the congress will bring together the industry's providers, adopters, designers and implementers from across the technology, clinical and regulatory fields to investigate this growing market, discuss success stories, explore innovations and look at how the industry can accelerate growth within the boundaries of current regulations.
Many key influencers within the industry are investing their time and expertise into this flagship event, from Medidata to Exco InTouch, ERT to Quintiles and the NHS to FDA. The congress will not only provide delegates with the opportunity to meet and learn from these organisations, but also to develop new partnerships, drive new innovations and ensure they remain at the forefront of what is the future of clinical research.
The conference programme will feature speaker sessions from leading executives who share knowledge, experience and passion for the use of mobile technology in healthcare, including
• Tim Davis, CEO & Co-founder of Exco InTouch
• Jeff Lee, Founder, Omniscience Mobile
• Tom Ruane, Senior Director of Patient Recruitment, Quintiles
• Doug Bain, Co-founder, CEO & Principal Consultant, eClinicalHealth
• Craig Lipset, Head of Clinical Innovation in Worldwide R&D, Pfizer
• Matt Bonam, Pharmaceutical Project Director, AstraZeneca
• Peter Milligan, Director, Lead for SCD, GlaxoSmithKline
• Charlie Morris, Vice President of New Products and Services, Clinical Technologies, Almac
• Professor George Crooks, Medical Director, NHS 24
Tim Davis, CEO of Exco InTouch and keynote speaker at the MCT-Congress 2014, comments: "The MCT-Congress is for the first time bringing together all the influencers from the mHealth field to examine the sector from every perspective. It will provide the ideal platform to introduce drug manufacturers, clinical trials companies and telecommunications businesses to the organisations developing innovative mobile technologies, helping to advance collaboration and lead healthcare transformation."
Edinburgh's Award-winning International Conference Centre will play host to the MCT-Congress, 20–21 March 2014. To register a place, please visit www.mct-congress.co.uk
