Eppendorf to showcase solutions to common lab challenges at Lab Innovations 2016

The company will exhibit and demonstrate a range of instruments and consumables from the liquid handling portfolio, including: pipettes & tips, manual and electronic dispensers and automated pipetting systems.

Eppendorf UK will showcase a range of solutions designed to address some of the most common challenges shared by scientists, and technical laboratory personnel at the upcoming Lab Innovations 2016 show, running 2 and 3 November, at the Birmingham NEC. With the latest state-of-the-art solutions from Eppendorf, researchers and scientists working within the life science industry can simplify, streamline, and potentially eliminate cumbersome lab work, whilst at the same time succeeding in generating reproducible and reliable results.

At this years show, Eppendorf will exhibit and demonstrate a range of instruments and consumables from the liquid handling portfolio, including: pipettes & tips, manual and electronic dispensers and automated pipetting systems.

Liquid handling workstations, such as the epMotion® automated pipetting system, will also be a key feature of the Eppendorf exhibit, as these intuitive instruments give researchers and scientists access to fast, precise pipetting across a broad spectrum of applications, whilst also making reproducible results far more achievable. With over 50 years experience in precise manual and automatic pipetting/dispensing and transferring of the smallest quantities of liquids, the Eppendorf liquid handling solutions feature award-winning designs, cutting-edge production and precise selection of materials, all resulting in products that are primed for optimal performance.

Steve Dey, Marketing Director at Eppendorf UK, commented: “Eppendorf is delighted to be attending Lab Innovations again this year, and we are excited to share some of our latest products and solutions with industry colleagues, researchers, and academics.” He added: “As always, the products we will be showcasing have been developed with the knowledge of the challenges our customers face, at the forefront of our minds. We have listened to their needs, and are proud to offer them state-of-the-art instruments, consumables, and services for cell handling, liquid handling and sample handling solutions.”

There will be a series of workshops and demonstrations at Lab Innovations, focussed around Liquid Handling and in particular how pipette tips influence results, leading to many scientists disappointment about non-reproducible results. During pipetting, pipettes are always used with a "fitting" tip, meaning a system of two components that should give reliable precision and accuracy during the whole workflow. However, the fact that a tip fits onto a pipette does not ensure that the system is working within error limits. The exact and coordinated interaction between pipette and pipette tips is of critical importance as both components, whether on their own or together as a system, must meet high quality standards in order to be able to deliver reliable, precise, and reproducible results.
