DHS - cGMP Dry Heat Sterilizer

Product Description

The Dry Heat Sterilizers type DHS are designed for sterilization and depyrogenation by hot air in Class 100 (ISO 5) of empty glass containers such as vials, ampoules, bottles and stainless steel parts. The inactivation and destroying of micro-organisms is by means of dry heat at 250-300 °C / 480-570° F maintained for a controlled period of time.
The dry heat process is accomplished by conduction of hot air, that is when heat is absorbed by the exterior surface of an item and then passed inward.
This process produces a physical inactivation (sterilization) and destruction (depyrogenation) of endotoxins and pyrogens.

It is possible to distinguish 2 different hot air process often used to ensure that glass containers and stainless steel parts are free of pyrogenic material:

• HOT AIR STERILIZATION cycles that are often run at 160°C or 200°C for an exposure time of 120 minutes; • DEPYROGENATION cycles that are often run at temperatures between 200°C and 260°C, with an exposure times normally from 60 to 150 minutes.
