CLOPINE (clozapine) is an atypical antipsychotic agent. Clozapine is chemically identified as 8-chloro-11-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)-5H-dibenzo[b,e][1,4]diazepine. Clozapine is a yellow crystalline powder. The PhEur monograph for clozapine solubility states that clozapine is freely soluble in methylene chloride, soluble in ethanol and it dissolves in dilute acetic acid. Clozapine does not exhibit any form of isomerism or polymorphism. CLOPINE tablets and suspension belong to the group of medicines known as antipsychotics. This group of medicines is mainly used in the treatment of schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental illness with disturbances in thinking, feelings and behaviour. This medicine is only used in patients with schizophrenia for whom other antipsychotic medicines have not worked or have caused severe side effects. Presentation: CLOPINE 50 mg/ml suspension is a free flowing yellow suspension. Storage: Store below 25°C. Protect from light. Packaging: CLOPINE suspension 100 mL.
