Product Description

(6S)-Calcium Folinate / Calcium Levofolinate EP is the active Isomer of Calcium Folinate, commonly used to reduce the toxic effects of some oncological therapies.

6S)-Calcium Folinate is the isomerically pure form of the (6RS)-mixture. It is commonly used to reduce the toxic effects of methotrexate and some other oncological therapies. It is also subscribed to treat anaemia caused by folate deficiencies and prescribed in synergistic combination with the chemotherapy agent 5-Fluorouracil in treating colon cancer (FOLFOX or FOLFIRI regimen).

USE
(6S)-Calcium Folinate is the isomerically pure form of the (6RS)-mixture. It is the biologically active form, having the (6S)-configuration at the C6 atom, which is typical for the “natural” folate pool.

The product is commonly used to reduce the toxic effects of methotrexate and certain other medicines (folic acid antagonists).
