UPOs (short for Unspecific Peroxygenases) are known to stereo- and regioselectively catalyze

• Hydroxylation

• Epoxidations

• Dealkylation

• Heteroatom oxygenation (e.g. sulfoxidation)

reactions and are thus an excellent addition or replacement to traditional chemical processes.

UPOs are typically extracellular enzymes secreted by fungi to obtain nutrients from the fungus’ environment and therefore naturally have a broad substrate spectrum – hence the name ‘unspecific’.

With currently 77 enzymes our UPO Enzyme Panel offers the largest collection of UPOs worldwide. Generally, the UPOs within this product are free of third-party IP and are available up to kg scale to enable rapid bioprocess upscaling.
