WHO Warns of Loss of Essential Medicines

The WHO said generations of drugs are under threat as microorganisms are becoming increasingly resistant to them.

According to an urgent statement by the WHO, the world is heading towards a "post-antibiotic" era, in which common infections will no longer have a cure.

 

In the statement for warning the health industry and patients, the WHO said that generations of drugs are under threat as microorganisms are becoming increasingly resistant to them.

 

WHO director-general Dr Margaret Chan said, "The message is loud and clear. The world is on the brink of losing miracle cures."
