UK Starts Probe into AstraZenca's Drug Mix-up

British health authorities warned that packages of an over-the-counter painkiller were found to contain antipsychotic drugs.

Thousands of packets of over-the-counter painkiller Nurofen Plus sold in the UK could contain antipsychotic drugs.

 

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is investigating how AstraZenca's Seroquel XL 50mg tablets came into contact with Nurofen Plus, which are made by Reckitt Benckiser at a separate site.

 

The MHRA said in statement, "Work is ongoing to obtain more information but the full facts may never be fully established. Recipients are requested to remain vigilant about this issue and requested to report any further cases or additional concerns promptly."
