The family-owned UK chemical manufacturer continues to celebrate its momentous achievement of reaching 150 years in business. On September 14th 2019, the company opened its doors to employee’s families, shareholders and partners in the chemical industry.
The company hosted over 900
attendees on its West Bromwich site. Visitors were entertained with a
range of chemistry and engineering demonstrations showing a selection of
the manufacturing processes carried out at the site.
"Our partners CDR Pumps, Flotronic Pumps, Waterwide,
Harnwick Freight, NERO Pipeline Connections, KMB Shipping, Positive Weighing
Solutions and Floserve participated in the festivities. This demonstrates the
very strong relationships that Robinson Brothers has developed with our key
suppliers. The day could not have worked without the support of our
excellent partners”, said Adrian Hanrahan, Managing Director of Robinson
Brothers.
Visitors had the opportunity to
view Toyota’s hydrogen fuel cell electric car, Toyota Mirai, as presented by
the National Physical Laboratory. The open day also hosted an informative
display from local Sandwell Naturalists showcasing the wildlife in nearby
Sandwell Valley, and local fire service West Bromwich Fire Station Red Watch
opened their fire engine vehicle doors to visitors to explore the equipment
used by firefighters.
The day also featured guest
appearances from Sameena Ali Khan from ITV Central News, and local inspirational
speaker Blind Dave Heeley renowned for completing the seven-marathon challenge.
"Both Sameena and Dave were fantastic and very engaging with everyone, a
real pleasure to have them involved in our celebrations" said Adrian
Hanrahan.
The September summer vibe was complete with music from a Roy Orbison tribute
act, The Forever Steelband, local Dhol Players, and First Steps Dance School.
Local health and mental well-being charity Kaleidoscope Plus Group also had an
interactive exhibit with their cuddly mascot! "It was great to welcome our
employee's families and colleagues who have worked at Robinson Brothers in the
past. We had some really positive comments from them", said Steve Pickard,
Operations Director.
