By February 9, 2019, all pharmaceutical dispensers in the European
Economic Areas (EEA) must be able to electronically verify and decommission
prescription medicines prior to dispensing. To comply with the EU’s Falsified
Medicines Directive (FMD), dispensers and pharmacists must verify the pack
features (e.g., tamper evidence and Data Matrix Code) prior to dispensing the
drug to the patient. This means they need to have an established and ongoing
connection to their country’s National Medicines Verification System (NMVS), as
well as a scanner capable of reading the Data Matrix Codes printed on medicine
packs.
Enlist rfxcel as your FMD service provider. We can provide you
with a secure connection to any NMVS. Using our software, you can verify,
decommission, recommission, and do all the other functions required under FMD.
Our Code Check (rCC) solution easily integrates with standard Data Matrix
scanners and addresses the FMD validation process through a simplified
pharmacy-specific workflow. rfxcel can handle split packs, aggregation to bag
labels during the preparation of prescriptions in advance, and other activities
affected by FMD. We offer standalone solutions or we can work with your
pharmacy software provider to fully integrate.
