Aceto boosts biomanufacturing footprint with acquisition of Ireland-based A&C Bio Buffer
The transaction expands the CDMO's GMP biopharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing capabilities
After acquiring excipients specialist A&C in April this year, Aceto has now struck a deal to acquire Ireland-based A&C Bio Buffer, a GMP manufacturer of custom buffer and chemical blend products used to manufacture biopharmaceutical drug products.
The transaction, described by the CDMO's CEO Gilles Cottier as a "natural add-on", compliments the company's expanded business development efforts in the biopharmaceutical sector.
According to Cottier, A&C Bio Buffer played a key role in the raw material supply chain for COVID-19 vaccines, and serves some of the leading biopharmaceutcial companies in Europe.
Located in Limerick, Ireland, A&C Bio Buffer produces more than 50 products including biological buffers, process solutions, cleaning solutions and water for injection (WFI) for companies operating in Ireland and Europe.
This is the sixth company with expanded manufacturing, R&D and portfolio offerings that Aceto has acquired during the last 2 years, giving it a robust manufacturing footprint. The company now has business operations in 10 countries, manufacturing and supplying more than 3,000 chemical compounds.
