Sai Life Sciences opens new HPAPI manufacturing facility in Bidar, India
A new HPAPI development and manufacturing block is now open at Sai Life Sciences’ Bidar Manufacturing Campus, expanding the CRDMO’s capabilities in small molecule discovery and commercialisation.
India-based CRDMO Sai Life Sciences have opened a new HPAPI manufacturing facility at their cGMP API manufacturing campus in Bidar, India, expanding the company’s capacity to provide their customers HPAPI development and manufacturing for streamlined NCE development.
The Bidar Manufacturing Campus will house the new HPAPI block, a 16,000 square foot section designed to handle highly potent molecules down to less than 1 μg/m3 containment. The integrated facility will also include dedicated sampling and dispensing areas, isolator trains for QC testing, and a deactivation facility. In early 2022, Sai Life Sciences opened an HPAPI development facility at their Hyderabad R&D campus. The addition of the Bidar HPAPI production facility will give Sai Life Sciences the capability to handle all aspects of a drug development project at each stage of the process, from process and analytical development through to packing and transportation.
CEO and Managing Director of Sai Life Sciences Krishna Kanumuri commented: “In recent years, we have been seeing an increase in projects involving oncology drugs, thus creating a need for high-potency APIs. To better serve this growing need and leverage recent advancements in technology related to HPAPI manufacturing, we have created this new facility. The addition of [a] latest generation HPAPI manufacturing to our facilities expands our capacity to serve the diverse needs of our customers.” Sai Life Sciences works with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies around the world for the discovery, development, and commercialisation of small molecules.
