PSCI Welcomes Delpharm, Samsung Biologics, and Suven as First Supplier Partners

The pharmaceutical industry continues to evolve with an increasing focus on responsible sourcing, sustainability, and collaboration across the supply chain. Under a new model to recognise suppliers within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry that share its vision of building responsible supply chains, the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI) has welcomed its first cohort of Supplier Partners: Delpharm, Samsung Biologics, and Suven.

Strengthening supplier collaboration

These partnerships signal a growing alignment within the industry to promote excellence in safety, environmental, and social outcomes. Delpharm, Samsung Biologics, and Suven bring significant expertise in contract development, biopharmaceutical services, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, respectively, contributing to global supply chain efficiency and sustainability. By joining the PSCI as Supplier Partners, they reinforce their dedication to not only delivering high-quality products but also fostering sustainable and responsible business operations, aligned with the PSCI Principles for Responsible Supply Chain Management.

Dr. Deirdre O'Reilly, Chair of the PSCI, emphasised the importance of this new model:
"By solidifying the PSCI’s partnerships with suppliers, we create a stronger collaboration that promotes responsible sourcing practices across the industry. This unified approach empowers suppliers to have a voice and be recognised for their commitment to ethical sourcing and contribute to the positive impacts of the PSCI."

Leading the way in pharmaceutical supply chains

Each of the new Supplier Partners brings a unique contribution to the pharmaceutical supply chain:

•    Nicolas Ragot, Managing Director of Delpharm, noted, “As a major CDMO to the pharmaceutical industry, Delpharm is proud to join the PSCI community as an official Supplier Partner. Becoming a Supplier Partner demonstrates our commitment to driving excellence in safety, environmental, and social outcomes across the global pharmaceutical supply chain.”
•    John Rim, CEO and President of Samsung Biologics, highlighted the company’s sustainability efforts:
"The PSCI’s Supplier Partnership is a strong reaffirmation of Samsung Biologics’ commitment to achieve net zero across the supply chain. We will integrate the PSCI Principles into our business practices and promote responsible conduct among our suppliers to drive sustainable change across the supply chain."
•    Metlapalli Srinivasu, Vice President Corp. Head of EHS & ESG at Suven Pharmaceuticals, said, “Being a Supplier Partner represents a significant milestone for Suven Pharma. It reinforces our role as a trusted partner in advancing global health and demonstrates our commitment to high-quality pharmaceutical solutions."

Collaboration for a sustainable future

The PSCI’s Supplier Partnership category was created in response to the growing interest from suppliers to be actively involved in PSCI activities and to recognise those that engage in responsible practices. Supplier Partners gain access to a shared platform for collaboration and performance improvement, allowing them to play an active role in advancing the industry’s goals of sustainability, ethical sourcing, and operational excellence.
