Over time, pharmaceutical quality assurance has evolved as a distinct stream, separate from overall quality control which concerns the testing of raw materials, intermediates and final products. Instead, quality assurance oversees the release of product for further processing or for sale and the approval of methods, procedures and their periodic review.
In this CPHI Pharma Explained video, Rachel Carmichael, Executive Director, NSF International, explains the vital role of the quality assurance system in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
