Mogine (25mg)

MOGINE tablets contain the active ingredient lamotrigine. It is used to treat epilepsy in children and adults. MOGINE is used in partial (seizures that affect only one part of the brain) or generalised seizures (seizures that affect the whole brain) including Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome.Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) is a severe form of epilepsy and is characterised by several seizure types.MOGINE tablets are initially used in addition to other medicines for the treatment of epilepsy. MOGINE tablets may also be used to treat Bipolar Depression in Adults. Lamotrigine is a substituted asymmetric triazine. It is a white to pale cream coloured powder. It is slightly soluble in ethanol and chloroform, and very slightly soluble in water. The pKa of lamotrigine at 25 C is 5.7. The chemical name for lamotrigine is 3,5-diamino-6-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,4-triazine. Indications: (1) Adults (over 12 years of age): MOGINE is indicated as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of epilepsy, for partial seizures and generalized seizures, including tonic-clonic seizures and the seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. (2) Children (2 to 12 years of age): MOGINE is indicated as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of epilepsy, for partial seizures and generalised seizures including tonic-clonic seizures and the seizures associated with Lennox-Gaustaut syndrome. (3) Bipolar Disorder (Adults over 18 years): MOGINE is indicated for the prevention of mood episodes in patients with bipolar disorder, predominantly by preventing depressive episodes. Presentation: White to off-white, modified square shape, engraved with “L” and “25” on one side, plain on the other side. Storage: MOGINE tablets should be stored below 25 C and should be kept in a place where they will remain dry and away from light. The shelf-life is 3 years.
