Hikal – Standing tall amidst changing paradigms
Hikal is a reliable long-term outsourcing partner and supplier of key active ingredients and intermediates to companies in the Pharmaceuticals, Animal Health, Biotech, Crop Protection and Specialty Chemical industries.
The fine chemicals landscape has been continuously evolving over the last three decades. Today, we experience yet again a major paradigm shift in our industry. One of the recent triggers has been Covid, accelerating ongoing trends such as consolidation and balancing supply chains, big pharma companies intensifying their outsourcing activities, different kinds of drugs and requirements for APIs driven by personalized medicine, biologicals and recently, oligonucleotides such as mRNA vaccines.
Being a major player in the Pharmaceuticals and Crop Protection global industry, Hikal is actively driving fundamental change. Since its foundation in 1988 by our Executive Chairman, Jai Hiremath, Hikal has come a long way and defines itself today as a technology and customer orientation driven provider. Our pristine track record of 33 years, a strong R&D capability and focus on technology with regulatory compliance and good corporate governance has ensured long-standing sustainable business relationships with our customers, globally.
With a total reactor capacity of over 3800 m3 across five manufacturing facilities in India at Maharashtra (Taloja and Mahad), Gujarat (Panoli) and Bengaluru (Jigani) and a world-class Research & Technology centre at Pune, Hikal has successfully established a strong foothold in multiple businesses – Pharmaceuticals, Crop Protection, Animal Health, Food Ingredients and Specialty Chemicals.
