Gamlen Tableting Ltd awarded Technology Strategy Board SMART Funding

Gamlen Tableting Ltd, developer of the Gamlen Tablet Press, has been awarded grant funding through the government-backed Technology Strategy Board’s SMART programme.

“I am delighted,” said Dr Michael Gamlen, Managing Director, Gamlen Tableting. “It is very rewarding to see the Gamlen Tablet Press selected against strong competition.”

Michael commented: “The SMART award will enable further development of the Gamlen Tablet Press specifically to improve its ease of use in terms of data management and automation of the detachment (take-off) force measurement.”

For existing Gamlen Tablet Press users, Gamlen Tableting will be able to retrofit the improvements.

The Gamlen Tablet Press is the world’s first computer-controlled bench-top tablet press. It is simple and easy to use and is ideal for the manufacture of test product batches and clinical trials materials under precisely controlled environmental conditions using the optional Controlled Humidity Environment.

The SMART programme offers funding to small and medium-sized enterprises to engage in R&D projects in the strategically important areas of science, engineering and technology.
