Freeze-drying process, also known as vacuum drying at low temperature, preserves sensitive products from water activities. Conventional static freeze-drying cycle time is a typical function of product cake thickness.
Dynamic Freeze Drying process is splitted into 2 steps:
- Drops deep-freezing into liquid nitrogen for forming beads shapes
- Solvent sublimation into a gentle rotating vacuum drum dryer type.
By drying in beads shapes, which are considered as divided solids, with a constant diameter, the product can roll over the dryer bowl surface. This continuous layer renewal enhances a constant and efficient heat exchange, eliminating the risk of poorly freeze-dried product fractions and edge effects.
Dynamic freeze-drying ensures significantly better product quality.
