EDWARDS UNIQUE DESIGN OF REVERSE CLAW TECHNOLOGY WILL HELP TO HANDLE HARSH/CORROSIVE CHEMICAL VAPORS
This
is the self cleaning claw, in terms of self-cleaning; a particular
advantage of the claw mechanism is its ability to deal with precipitation on
the internally exposed surface of the stator wall. Precipitation tends to
reduce running clearances and the pump’s performance improves and stabilizes,
with the rotating claws “shaving” the static surfaces as fast as deposition
occurs. In normal operation few problems arise, with the high gas throughputs
transporting the dust efficiently through pump. Such debris tends to be swept
by centrifugal force around the periphery of the stage ahead of each claw,
scouring the curved surfaces clean.
