Bsa (Bovine Serum Albumin)

Synonym: Albumins, Blood Serum, BSARaw Material:Bovine blood from animals controlled by an official veterinarian and found fit for human consumption. Bovine raw materials are obtained solely from countries recognized as having a negligible /or controlled BSE-risk in accordance with OIE, Chapter 11.5 of the Terrestrial Code. 

Description: BSA Fraction V is a generic term for all kinds of bovine serum albumin. It is a crystallisable albumin or mixture of albumins that normally constitutes more than half of the protein in blood serum that serves to maintain the osmotic pressure of the blood.

Use: BSA is one of the most widely used pure proteins in diagnostics. Examples of its many uses are growth promoter in serum-free media, as a diluent-enhancer in blood banking and immune techniques, as an agent for stabilization, activation, or release of enzymes, as a background protein source in different assay systems.

Biofac produces many different grades of BSA. Most of these are tailor-made to suit the individual needs of specific clients.

Apart from our standard grade (described below) we can mention our Stripped BSA, our Protease free BSA, and our Cosmetic Grade BSA.

 

Storage and StabilityBovine Serum Albumin should be stored in tight and original containers at a temperature between 2 - 8°C. It is stable at room temperatures for several months and can be shipped throughout the world at ambient temperatures without any damages ever reported.  However, for long-term storage the product must be kept under cool, dry conditions, as moisture can affect the shelf life of the product. Our product is stable for at least 3 years from date of production.
