An innovative and affordable range of labels made for Pharma

A range of labels and an innovative tamper-evident ink

Pilot Italia will be present at CPHI Milan in October (stand P20 – F32) with four unusual products: three multifunctional handle labels and an ink dedicated to brand protection.

The goal is to become a leading player in this market by focusing on evolution, creativity, and implementing rigorous ESG practices that involve all levels of the company and have earned the Silver rating from Ecovadis.

Innovation and continuous development have enabled the company to patent solutions developed by its internal team. This relentless research is the heart of Pilot Italia's market strategy and represents the desire to offer customers new ideas along with the necessary technical support to meet all their needs.

Risk Management that meets international standards, combined with Business Continuity protocols, are other key points for Pilot Italia, ensuring production continuity and prompt interventions with an error margin of 0.074%.

Pilot Italia produces labels using combined printing techniques that merge offset, typography, and flexography, with screen printing, hot and cold foil stamping, and embossing, all in one pass. An advanced digital department combines traditional and inkjet systems to offer a comprehensive range of the highest quality for small, medium, and large runs.

The company has embarked on an important journey to meet all ESG protocols.

The goal? Not only to shape the company of tomorrow but also to align with the requirements of a sustainable supply chain. The recognition of the Silver rating from Ecovadis reflects the concrete commitment to reshaping production and governance processes, with one eye on people and the other on the environment. It is not surprising for a company founded in 1968 and now led by Andrea Vimercati, 52, son of the founder Giancarlo, who remains an influential figure but now in a more strategic role.

Andrea Vimercati is supported by a diverse team equally composed of genders with an average age of 31 years. Here is his vision.

Which products were designed for the pharmaceutical industry?

Our R&D team has developed and patented three labels with an innovative hook and various functionalities with the aim of simplifying and supporting operating room staff and meeting customer needs. Additionally, we propose the integration of a safety feature that is capable of meeting the stringent standards of brand protection, a key issue for the future of the pharmaceutical sector.

How were they developed?

Our R&D department conducts research on new materials, including eco-sustainable ones, with a focus on functionality. We believe that a label should not only describe the content and decorate the container but also optimize and speed up the work of healthcare professionals. The positive response from the Italian market has allowed it to become a flagship product, also thanks to its economic accessibility. This has led to the creation of a full range, currently composed of three labels, capable of meeting all the needs of medical personnel.

What will Pilot Italia of the future look like?

It will be an increasingly eco-sustainable and technologically advanced company that prioritizes the quality of working life for employees. We believe in the power of a smile because smiling is a serious matter. We are convinced that true success is closely linked to the well-being of the people who work there and the community in which it operates.

We are committed to ensuring a safe, engaging, and respectful workplace for the human rights of the people who work with us, and this means promoting a corporate culture that values diversity and inclusion. At Pilot Italia, we want to be a positive agent of change.

We believe it is important to share our ESG policies, which is why we have created a section on the website pilotitalia.com called ESG Attitude, where it is possible to download PDFs of the policies implemented in the three areas: Environment, with regulations on environment and safety; Social, with policies on diversity and inclusion, work and rights, and child labor; and Governance, with policies on sustainable procurement and anti-corruption standards, as well as the code of ethics that involves all these areas.

Andrea Vimercati coined the company's iconic motto, "Man ennobles work," which here seems to have evolved into "The company ennobles work."
