Airgas and Biologics Modular to provide modular facilities for life sciences and pharmaceutical firms

Airgas and Biologics Modular are partnering up to provide a flexible, cost-effective solution to companies and manufacturers that need to expand their life science assets.

Airgas Inc and Biologics Modular have announced a three-year marketing, sales and service agreement to provide modular research suites for health service providers, educational facilities and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Under the terms of the agreement, Airgas will provide specialty gases and equipment, cryogenic liquids and freezers, and laboratory design services.

Biologics Modular, meanwhile, will manufacture, fit and deliver the modular facilities and provide site preparation services.

The modular facilities are designed to serve as self-contained bio-repositories, bio-manufacturing sites and research suites.

Todd Morris, vice-president of university and laboratory markets at Airgas, said: "Many of our customers recognise the need to expand their life science assets but may have budget or facility constraint issues.
"The Biologics Modular platform enables us to provide a flexible, cost-effective solution."

Clark Byrum, president and chief executive officer of Biologics Modular, welcomed the partnership with Airgas.
"Their experience with leading research institutions and life science companies, coupled with our innovative facilities platform, provides access to a broader array of solutions for our customers," he explained
